I was born in Hunan, China where I began to study art at a young age. I graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Traditional Chinese Painting in 1982. After graduating, I took a position as an art professor at the Art and Design College, Changsha University of Science and Technology (CSUT). In 2005, I came to San Francisco to study New Media Art at the Academy of Art University where over three years I explored new styles of painting and expression.
San Francisco is a home to many worldly artists, where every day is a new discovery and appreciation of everyday life and culture. My hope is to portray the intersections of Western and Eastern culture, to bring both the traditional and contemporary to the same canvass.
