THOMAS ELLIS

Born and raised on a farm/ ranch in Southeastern Kansas.  Started painting at age 4. Am now 64, and a lot of water has passed under that bridge.

My goal as an artist is to never repeat the same thing twice.  Life is about Change, and I try my best to embrase it even if it sometimes feels like groping in a dark roomfull of moths.  I work in a variety of media and disciplines. chosing what I feel to be right for the moment.

I am an experimenter at heart, and I like to think of myself as a problem solver, and something of a scientist as well as an artist.

My styles and subject matters span a wide range:  from portraits to landscapes, from imaginary to photo realism, from classical to post modernism.

I've had numberous one-man and group shows throughout the years.  Last autumn lectured and taught at some schools, and I presented a one-man retrospective in my home town in Kansas which was well received.
