I am intrigued with how a space can make one feel on an intuitive level, particularly how color is quick to impart a mood or a feeling. Color, scale, light and line are elements I pay homage to whether designing a living space to happily lounge in, or a large abstract piece to catch the eye and define a pleasing point of interest. My desire is to help people understand the importance of the living and working environments they create for themselves, how vital those environments are to well being on a plane most of us aren't even aware of. Our direct environments mold us in powerful and significant ways. Color is as intrinsic to my work as breath is to life; it is what makes me expand into my best possible self.
I am a photographer living and working in sunny New Mexico, partaking of the area's gorgeous natural light. I split my time between the central high desert and the mountains of northern New Mexico, always with camera in hand. I also travel all over the country on various expeditions to chase the world through my viewfinder. My images are heavily manipulated into abstract representations of their former selves, awash with intense color.
For the last twenty years I've taken great pleasure in the feel of a hard-body camera in my hands as a tool of expression, whether it be a 35mm or more recently, a DSLR. It is only within the last three years that I have begun to put my work out there in local galleries and art shows. My house and heart brim with light and color; I wish the same for as many people as I can reach.
