Deana Lawson’s provocative West Coast solo debut at Baer Ridgway Exhibitions is comprised of both original portraits and appropriated photographs. The exhibition showcases Lawson’s curious eye in unfolding and understanding a Black aesthetic, especially in relation to the photographic image.
