Vanessa L. Beckrum
Growing up in Los Angeles Vanessa started painting at age 14 when she took her first impacting art class. There she discovered a passion and gifting for art. Once she finished school, she pursued other creative expressions such as Artist and Consultant in the Beauty Industry, Fashion Stylist and Illustrator and a Vocalist for a reggae band. Though living in a creative atmosphere, she still felt the longing to paint and draw, so she picked up her brushes again in 2005.
She currently still lives in Los Angeles County pursuing her passion for painting and creating. “My heart is women and the different experiences we go through, whether it is body image, sisterhood or the effects of the sex trade, I want the viewer to feel and be moved, to dialog on the subject expressed in my pieces.”
“I have had the privilege to participate in group shows with B.U.S. Co-Operative and Art Gallery in San Francisco, Project Ethos, The Long Beach Mid City Tours and Treasures Ministries. I look forward to becoming more connected with the art community not only here in Los Angeles, but also expand throughout the Country as well as globally. There is so much incredible art all around. I am thrilled for the opportunity to be a part of it.”
