Statement

Petra Feriancova is represented by Jiri Svestka Gallery in Prague and Valentina Moncada Gallery at Rome. She has shown work internationally in exhibitions including IBCA, International Biennal of Contemp. Arts, (Prague), 2005, Prague Biennal 3, 48th October Salon in Belgrade, City of Women, (13th Festival of Contemporary Arts), SKUC, (Ljubljana), Anthony Reynolds (London), Fondazione Adriano Olivetti, (Rome), Musee De Saint Etienne, ect. She is the Finalist of Oskar Čepan Award for 2008.

The key moment of Petra Feriancova`s work is the conceptualization of own emotional reactions to the processes of perception and memory as well as examination of the conditions of their sharing. As the starting point the artist usually uses the already created pictures and texts which are methodically re-composed and interpreted. The main aim of the manipulation with a reference, pictorial or discursive, is to provide a spectator with the original affective reaction to it.
