Jon Leon



As an independent writer and critic Jon Leon has written profiles, articles, essays, reviews, interviews, poems, and literary work for Spike Art Quarterly, Oyster, ArtSlant, Sang Bleu, The Brooklyn Rail, Novembre, East of Borneo, Art in America and other magazines and journals. His work has received commendatory review in Vice, Interview, Frieze, Bomb, and Bidoun among others. He is the author The Malady of the Century (2012), Elizabeth Zoë Lindsay Drink Fanta (2011), The Hot Tub (2009), and a number of privately issued titles and special editions. A solo exhibition, The Coral, ran from July 28 through September 30, 2013 at The Finley Gallery, Los Angeles. Leon is the recipient of a Philip Whalen Memorial Grant and a Jerome Foundation Regrant. New writing is forthcoming from New York-based art book publisher Karma, Le Consortium, Dijon, and The Poetry Foundation.
