About me as an artist.
Graham edward Rhodes-born in Worcester.
Lives in Blidworth Mansfield Nottinghamshire.
Studied art at Rushcliffe school west Bridgeford.
Art and drawing have been one of my favorite hobbies since a very young age, first I started with pencils and scraps of paper drawing birds heads with spiral patterns and doodles of people and animals, buildings and plant life.
As I have grown older my drawings have become more diverse and now include a large variety of figures and scenes alike all joined to create very surreal pictures.
My work resembles Salvador Dali and Max Ernst but with more appeal.
Most of my drawings can take months to complete while others only a few weeks. The longest time taken to complete a drawing was 13 months and measured 32x22"
I don't copy or mimic any other artist and Its my opinion that I am the only person with this style of drawing.
I use white acid free cartridge paper and Edding 1800 profile pens ranging from 0.1 to 0.7 in size. and pencils for outline work and preparation.
I have a very vivid and extended imagination that helps me create new and descriptive artwork every time with dramatic effects. My drawings are very Asymmetrical with Geometric focal points and negative spaces. And I like to create pictures that entice the viewer by skillfully arousing the eyes and the imagination.
My achievements include winning an award in the ArtSlant 6th 2012 showcase with my drawing called progression.
