Phil Morin

Bio

Phil Morin is a visual artist who paints landscapes and seascapes in oils, acrylics and watercolors. He has shown his work in galleries including La Galerie du Nouvel Ontario (www.gn-o.org) and at other venues. Phil is a self taught artist that began painting in 1986.He currently lives and paints in Sudbury, Canada.In May 2007 his painting ‘against the storm’ was featured in the Parkhurst Exchange, a Canadian medical journal.

Artist's Statement

I prefer to lay down washes and spots of color that suggest the subject rather than delineating every leaf or blade of grass. Transforming nature into color patterns that are filtered through my feelings about the subject is what I enjoy most about creating Expressionist landscapes and seascapes.
