Statement

Feng Jin was born in Harbin, China. In 1992, he received his BA in Sculpture from the Central Institute of Fine Art, Beijing. He started working with stainless steel and various metals with abstract curves ever since his art school ages. In 1989, Jin participated in designing and co-producing "Goddess of Democracy" statue for student movement in Tian-An-Men Square. In 1995, Jin came to the U.S. and resided in San Francisco Bay Area pursuing his artistic career as a metal sculptor. Jin concentrated on becoming a professional sculptor without making any political statement through out his art. His favorite subjects are life and women. Fifteen years living in America, Jin has exhibited his work widely. Major exhibitions include: Alameda Museum, San Leandro Historical Museum and Art Gallery, Los Gatos Museum of Art and Stanford Art Space at Stanford University.
