Shayla Dopp

The photography of Shayla Michelle Dopp gives us an intimate look into the heart of her subjects. Each photograph is an encounter with the world on the other side of the lens…as opposed to using her camera as a boundary; a wall to hide behind, giving her room to find objectivity. Shayla absorbs her ‘muses’ into herself, much as the light emanating from the focal point imprints on the negative. By doing so, she allows us to share in the human aspect of the relationship between photographer and subject.
