Contemporary classical art
Paul Damian Armesto is the author of the mural paintings at St.John the Baptist Church NYC, and large murals in three other churches in Costa Rica: Tres Ríos, Bagaces and San Diego where he painted one of the largest oil paintings ever: over 50 yards long. Born on December 14th 1973 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, he expressed his interest in art from an early age. During several trips to Quiberon, Brittany, he developed a love for seascapes and 18th century classical themes. After academic art studies he sought to perfect his oil painting technique through the traditional teachings of a master celebrated classical painter Alberto Ycaza (1945-2002). Paul Damian has had several solo exhibits and has painted other murals and canvases for hotels and private individuals always seeking to recover the classical values of western art.
