It was going to happen sooner or later. Japanese contemporary art mogul Takashi Murakami and his artist collective Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd. would sweep in and claim their slice in the ever-burgeoning Berlin art scene. Berlin, July 2012: There is a scene in the Ridley Scott’s movie Alien (1979) where Executive Officer Kane (played by John Hurt) is lowered into a derelict ship and discoverers a chamber filled with hundreds of alien eggs lined up in neat little rows, laid and waiting to hatch.
