Monique Michaels’ professional work emphasizes fine art, advertising and fashion photography. A regular contributor to The New Yorker, Angeleno, C, Los Angeles, and Pasadena Magazines. Her photography is inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Avedon, Steichen, Peter Lindbergh, Alexi Lubomirski, Melvin Sokolski, Francesco Scavullo, and Anita Bresser. Her personal work features fine art, fashion, lifestyle, journalistic style street photography and has been exhibited in both solo and group shows at the MOCA / Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, in Santa Monica, CA at the In-Focus Institute and in Venice, CA during the art crawl, first Friday and Whole Foods artisan corner. Monique is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, the Advertising Photographers of America and the Press Photographers Association of Greater Los Angeles. In addition, she currently serves of the Board of Directors of the MOCA Contemporaries in Los Angeles. Monique was born and raised in Chicago and currently lives in Venice, California.
