Born in Sri Lanka and currently residing in United Kingdom, Priyantha Udagedara is a painter and installation artist. In 2003 he obtained his BFA from the Institute of Aesthetic Studies at the University of Kelaniya, and subsequently an MA in Creative Fine Art Practice (Merit) from Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds, United Kingdom where he resides now. He is currently a PhD research candidate in the same university. His mixed medium work conveys conscious and retrospective responses to his life experiences drawn by the war and conflict in Sri Lanka and the questions of identity. Priyantha exhibits his work internationally as well as nationally, showing in galleries and institutions in Sri Lanka, India, Australia and United Kingdom.
