Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jennifer Gutierrez Morgan has developed a deep familiarity and involvement within the city’s arts and education landscapes over the past fifteen years. She has worked to develop various skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience in the fields of both art and education.
Earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University Long Beach, in addition to having professional experiences as an ART EDUCATOR within the Los Angeles community, Jennifer brings a rich background and perspective to her programs. She currently serves as the STUDIO ART instructor at Notre Dame Academy Elementary and has previously worked as the STUDIO LAB instructor at Walgrove Elementary, and Art Educator at West Hollywood Elementary, The Growing Place and Legacy LA. She has also helds positions as a Gallery Curator, Jewelry Designer, and Freelance Photographer, which have greatly supported her overall vision for Art Education.
Within recent years, Jennifer's concentration has focused on Art Education and sharing the experiences she has had the opportunity to gain in the art field, in the classroom, and within her own art practice. Working with children/youth and adults greatly resonates with Jennifer's goals and intentions for fusing art, earthwork, and education in her lifework, which led her to develop SUSTAINABLE ARTS LA.

Classes are located in Mar Vista, CA at Jennifer Gutierrez Morgan's outdoor home studio.

My son has been attending Jennifer’s art camps for several summers. Starting in spring, he begins to talk about the camp with great anticipation. In a city where this is much hyperbole and the word “amazing” is over used, there is truly something special going on with Jenn’s camp. Jen is gentle with the campers and supportive as they pursue the different disciplines. Water color, collage, acrylics, sculpture, the students all get their hands wet figuratively and literally while they CREATE beautiful projects. And it is not a cookie cutter approach. Jennifer is a true artist and every day she approaches the curriculum and the students with a deft hand. No kid is the same as another and therefore no artist is the same as another. What she brings is artisanal approach to her camp. A true magic experience for all campers!

Two questions for Peachhead today. Has anyone heard of Sustainable Arts LA art camp? We got a flyer for it today and it looks interesting - perfect for Spring Break. But I've never heard about them. Would love any feedback you guys might have. It's for ages 5-15 and runs in the morning or afternoons throughout April. Run by Jennifer Gutierrez Morgan.
“We know Jennifer Gutierrez Morgan! She's the art bomb as far as we are concerned. She was the art instructor for The Growing Place at Marine Park (RIE and Reggio) where my son attended, and is fantastic. This is coming from two Art Director parents who met in art school. Many of our best pieces from my son's body of work come from Jennifer's instruction. They are expressive and intuitive. All her art projects are age-appropiate, inspiring, visionary and fun. She understands the delicate process of learning to become visually literate in early education. Sadly for us, our son has moved away from the visual arts and onto the audible arts (music) and sports. He'll be going to baseball camp instead of Jenn's art camp. But being artists ourselves, we embrace change and accept sitting on bleachers instead of going to MOCA.”
Good Luck. Susan
