W H A T :

SUSTAINABLE ARTS LA (SALA) is an art program that caters to families and schools who are interested in providing their children and/or students a space to explore both traditional and non-traditional methods of art that focus on working with, and introducing sustainable materials and responsible art practices.

 W H Y :

By participating in SALA's programs, you are contributing to the development of a socially and culturally responsible society which supports the rich fabric of our diverse city, in addition to the well being of our communities on both a local and global level.  All children and adults across every level deserve to experience creativity and art making that will support their holistic growth and development as responsible, intellectual, confident, creative individuals.

W H E R E:

Classes are held in Mar Vista, CA at a private residence (near Palms & Centinela.)

PRIVATE or SMALL GROUP classes available.

 W H O :

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jennifer Gutierrez Morgan has developed a deep familiarity and involvement within the city’s arts and education landscapes over the past fifteen years.  She has worked to develop various skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience in the fields of both art and education.

Earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University Long Beach, in addition to having professional experience as an ART EDUCATOR as the STUDIO ART instructor at Notre Dame Academy Elementary (current) and as STUDIO LAB instructor at Walgrove Elementary, Art Educator (West Hollywood Elementary, The Growing Place, Legacy LA, SALA), Gallery Curator, Jewelry Designer, and Freelance Photographer, Jennifer brings a rich background and perspective to her classes.

Within recent years, Jennifer's concentration has focused on Art Education and sharing the experiences she has had the opportunity to gain in the art field, in the classroom, and within her own art practice.  Working with children/youth and adults greatly resonates with Jennifer's goals and intentions for fusing both art, earthwork, and education in her lifework, which led her to develop SUSTAINABLE ARTS LA.

R E G I S T R A T I O N :

The classes we offer during summer session will have limited space, as we strive to create an environment that supports optimal group learning, while simultaneously providing each child with utmost individual attention.

When possible, we are more than willing to accommodate alternative scheduling should there an interest in weekend and/or private sessions.

*LIMITED SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE ON AN AS NEED BASIS.*

Our ultimate goal is to provide children and adults with opportunities to experience art and creativity on an invaluable level that supports their growth, interests, and overall well-being.

TO REGISTER please email:  sustainableartsla@gmail.com

We look forward to working with your children and family!

All the best,

Jennifer Gutierrez Morgan

Founder, SUSTAINABLE ARTS LA

PEACHHEAD BUZZ…

Art Camp Santa Monica - help!

Posted by: “cerentha  Wed Mar 28, 2012 6:51 am (PDT)

Two questions for Peachhead today.  Has anyone heard of Sustainable Arts LA art camp? We got a flyer for it today and it looks interesting - perfect for Spring Break. But I've never heard about them. Would love any feedback you guys might have. It's for ages 5-15 and runs in the morning or afternoons throughout April. Run by Jennifer Gutierrez Morgan.

We know Jennifer Gutierrez Morgan! She's the art bomb as far as we are concerned. She was the art instructor for The Growing Place at Marine Park (RIE and Reggio) where my son attended, and is fantastic. This is coming from two Art Director parents who met in art school. Many of our best pieces from my son's body of work come from Jennifer's instruction. They are expressive and intuitive. All her art projects are age-appropiate, inspiring, visionary and fun. She understands the delicate process of learning to become visually literate in early education.   Sadly for us, our son has moved away from the visual arts and onto the audible arts (music) and sports. He'll be going to baseball camp instead of Jenn's art camp. But being artists ourselves, we embrace change and accept sitting on bleachers instead of going to MOCA.”

Good Luck. Susan
