"Cactus Kaleidoscopes"
(Additional pieces at
Cactus flower photographs are the subject matter for all of the pieces in this series. The color and composition of these photographs have been digitally manipulated to create enhanced color and composition. These paper printed images are then woven into a collage that creates a kaleidoscope of color and pattern that is an abstract celebration of the original.

"Tex-Tile Fabrications"
(Additional pieces at
As a costume Designer for the theatre I am continually exploring new textiles from many sources and new ways to use them. Recently I was doing research on the fabrics of Africa and rediscovered a decorative, seemingly limitless world of color, pattern, and texture. With dozens of fabric samples side by side a stained glass / tile pattern was created that sparked my interest. In these pieces I have manipulated the colors and created numerous patterns that coordinate with each other. I have woven these paper printed textiles into a collage that abstracts the original prints into a Tex-Tile pattern that is a celebration of the original.

“Urban Landscapes”
( and other mixed media works )
A trip through the Southwestern United States inspired this evolving series of mixed media sculptures. The initial series involved the use of ikat dyed materials in a traditional loom woven format to represent the color and layers of soils that make up the walls of the Grand Canyon. The “Urban Landscape” of New York City and the “Ocean Landscape” of Southern California have infiltrated this initial concept to create a series of works that blend the rolling vertical walls of the grand canyon with the towering repetition of the architecture of New York and the vast skyline and Seashore of Southern California. ”Urban Landscapes” employ the use of photographic newsprint, tricolored metallic wires and mixed fibers to create a impression of an abstract photo sculpture of the various landscapes that are a part of our world today.
