The wanderlust spirit is fueled by curiosity and a sense of adventure.
It’s the thrill of finding a modern ghost town eerily preserved, rich with history and architectural remnants of its mid twentieth century past.
It’s the intrigue of wandering a maze of grimy narrow alleys in Taipei where live chickens share center stage with karaoke singers.
It’s a powerful imagination that can visualize the glamour hidden behind the walls of an old hotel; its once elegant sign now rusted and bent and its vibrant colors now faded.
You embody the wanderlust spirit and appreciate individuality. Curiosity, exploration and new experiences feed your soul. You embrace the fearless attitude it takes to forge your own trail.
The art you choose should reflect your adventurous attitude.
I create mixed media art with a distinctive urban style that reflects a deep passion for adventure and exploring the weird and wonderful world in which we live. I layer original images with graphics and acrylic paint to document details that tell a story.
To create my signature edgy look, I embrace flaws, even emphasize them, with techniques that make sporadic imperfections an integral part of the final piece. Creatively, I need to get my hands dirty. So, in the studio, I take original photos and manipulate them, adding acrylic paint in several layers, overlaying and sometimes even stripping away the image I originally started with. I love the idea of deconstructing something and putting it back together skewed and slightly off register - a visual reminder there is beauty in imperfection.
When these elements are combined the result is a one-of-a-kind mixed media piece with a distinctively edgy urban style - an aesthetic that goes beyond art and invites you to join the adventure.
