Todd Fry is an artist living and working in York, PA. Born in 1971, art has always been a big part of his life; painting and sculpting since he was a child. Although self-taught in the visual arts, he studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, majoring in music performance and recording. Todd's passion for the art of visual storytelling led him to launch his own video production company in 2004, where he was honored with seven Emmy® awards. As a visual artist, Todd draws from all his experiences as a musician, filmmaker, and writer to enhance his work, and continues to search for unique and compelling ways to examine the human condition through sculpture.
Think about all the dualities we create in our minds: pleasure vs. pain, good vs. bad, life vs. death. I believe these labels only blind us to the Truth. In my work I explore the vast expanse between those extremes, a place where things are never just black and white. I choose to do this through abstract art because I believe it to be a perfect mirror for the secrets hidden deep inside the viewer's subconscious, exposing the truth of how we actually see the world. Nail by nail, link by link, I am trying to understand the millions of thoughts and ideas that, when added all together, make us human.
