Ketut Kusuma

Ketut Kusuma (Kei) is a self-taught graphic artist currently based in Indonesia. Having a huge interest in visual artistry since early age, he has begin studying how to draw and creating images by himself since very early age. Started as an instinct, he has continued his endless endeavor of practice until now.

Kusuma’s images combined various kind of style and elements. From Slight decadence, Baroque, Romanticism, etc. Ranging infinitely from classic to the most modern contemporary style of art. Despite the medium and other aspects he describe his works as theatre of images, as most of his works portraying various different kind of emotion which attract it’s viewers, such as a joyful childlike purity accompanied with an air of melancholy at some point. During his early teen years he was mostly making artworks for private collections and also doing work as freelance illustrator and art director. He started to exhibit his works internationally by the age of 19. He has also shown some of his works to his friend in the US, Hiroki Otsuka (Professional illustrator/artist) whom made a special statement as a form of appreciation, saying: “His art work is beautiful and feels as though you are looking through a window to his soul.”

Recently he also doing collaboration and projects with models, designer and other artist. Such as his collaboration project with Dylan Sada (NY based Photographer, Model, Singer, Song writer). He consider doing collaboration and commissioned projects was actually an experiment of finding new way to showcasing his works. He was intrigued to do more interesting projects and exhibition while also doing exploration and development on his works.
