I am fascinated with the act of intuitive decision-making and how innate decisions or accidents can allow us to foster new connections between elements. In my work I try to explore the potential limit of the interaction between the materials, allowing the material to take on its own form in these relationships. When the structure becomes the materials themselves, without fastenings, they are free and they live, I like that. My work often exists as unfixed sculptural assemblages, utilising materials which connote to the juxtaposition of civic versus domestic space and industrial versus gendered items, jarring against each other to create works that are often overtly embedded with violence/eroticism.
