abstract, landscape, impressionism
Born and raised in Colorado, I earned my Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts \ from Colorado State University. My approach to acrylic on canvas is one of energy. The use of a palette knife and broad strokes add dimension to my work. I push my art to have an abstract edge. I’m not searching for perfection in my work... rather impression. You will see a graphic style in my paintings. I like to break down landscapes and images, not to simplify, but make my own.
I best express my feelings and visions through art. I hope my audience will experience an emotional response to my use of color and my subject matter. I desire my art to provoke thought, feeling and even memories.
I enjoy painting many subject matters, including trees, flowers, and urban landscapes. Painting Aspen trees has become one of my passions. My childhood in the Colorado Rockies certainly left a footprint on my heart. I love exploring new ways to bring the Aspen tree to life with color. Aspen share a strong, con- nective root system underground... to me it symbolizes the shared bond between people and the earth... connected, and displaying different colors.
I’m married to an Air Force pilot, and currently raising our four children in Tucson, Arizona. Moving with the Air Force and being a “military wife” has added to the depth and passion I showcase in my work.
