The oil paintings are startling in their illusionism. The obsessive attention to detail enhances their        emotional impact, giving them the intensity of portraits. The objects depicted are chosen for their power to evoke memories and associations. Keren's father was a holocaust survivor and refugee.

His family had everything stolen from them and later he lost a trunk full of his belongings when he returned to London from Toronto. Our relationship with our possessions and the memories of them inform the work.

Drawing people is an abiding passion.

Keren is a dedicated teacher of life drawing.

Keren graduated from the RCA with an MA in printed textiles in 1980. On leaving she developed a  successful career as an illustrator and print maker.

In the eighties and nineties her distinctive lino-cut prints were used by the fashion design company Ally Capellino.

Keren has illustrated numerous children’s books, first using lino cuts then painting in gouache.

In recent years Keren has been able to focus on painting. She has a passion for life-drawing which she teaches and practices in her London studio.

Keren’s work is in private collections worldwide. Sir Paul Smith owns many of her paintings. She has been exhibiting regularly including at the Discerning Eye Exhibitions and at the Mall Galleries.
