Erica, thank you for stopping by, for your vote, and kind comments. In my painting 'The Mistress', she represents an archetype all women have access to and which we can lose touch with due to factors such as children, illness, overwork, etc; but which has the power to be renewed if we reconnect with it. The tarot cards she is spilling from her hand read out a tarot-symbolic statement. Since the Rider-Waite deck is so familiar to people, I referred to this as my alphabet. I will take time to explore your tarot deck (a big undertaking) on your site. You come at it from an interesting direction ideologically, more what the cards reveal about a current time. The nicest thing about participating in this showcase has been the opportunity to connect with fellow artists from all over, but especially those women whose work showed a kindredship with mine, exploring the feminine, myth, symbolism; and whose vision is surreal and expressionist. Early 20th century artists Andre Breton, Dali, Ernst, Leonora Carrington, Leonor Fini, et al could meet in the cafe in Paris. We have the Internet. Feel free to drop me a line and say hi when all this is over.

I just went through the large show. Even better. Your work makes me chuckle sometimes. I see we both love Artemesia Gentillesci. It is in my plans to do my own take of 'Judiith and Holofernes'. I remember seeing her version along with some male ones as part of a Caravagio show at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington years ago. I knew immediately which one had been done by the sole woman in the show. If you scroll down on my page, I talk about this. This archetype is immediate and personal, but it also has a larger scope, railing against patriarchy and even ruthless exploitation of the earth by military and industrial complexes. I also liked your interpretation of Susana and the Elders, which was also done well by Artemesia Gentillesci. I admire you and feel a kindredship with you as an artist.

Your style reminds me of a favorite artist of mine, Tamara de Lempicka. I relate to your work of myth and symbolism in your work! There is wit mixed with provocation in your visual story telling. Come by my site and see my gallery. Cast a vote for me if you resonate with my work. Best.
