I create abstract photographs by shooting into kitchen & bathroom sinks, boiling pots of water and swimming pools.
In these places of liquidity, reflections of water and light, a world of clarity opens up for me casting in it's colors all of my innermost fears and hopes. The yin and yang lesson that I never can seem to embrace fully, forever beckons me. The insistent colors of oranges, reds and yellows dominate my work always leaving me with optimism and offering me a route to escape the doom I feel so often.
I don't use Photoshop to rearrange any of the elements in my work; I do, however, use technology, to expand what is already there.
The work is the result of the conversation between my camera and my PC. My art is guided by my intuition pushing past what my brain dictates as correct, which means pushing past pixels, contrast and temperature controls until the image speaks to me on an inner level.
