Dawn Marie Forsyth

Human experiences including our individual and collective struggles with identity, environment, our internal and external landscape and the exposure of hidden desires are all primary in my work. In my current work I am investigating the empty garment and its influence on visual culture. In the absence of human form these empty garments become structures for narratives, architecture and metaphor for the constructs that restrain and embrace us. I use this powerful signifier to question our illusions of self, society and the struggle/desire paradox.
