My art career began in New York City and has continued in Los Angeles. I have an in-depth knowledge of art history, technique and execution, which has allowed me create masterful art in all medium "isms". Whether it's abstract, collage, realistic drawing, or majestic landscapes.
I studied artistic anatomy with Robert Hale, who had been the curator of American Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC; later I was awarded the Augustus St. Gauden's Medal for draftsmanship; studied sculpture with Charles Salerno at the National Academy of Design, NYC and watercolor with Mario Cooper. I studied painting with Theodore Stamos, Knox Martin and Julian Levy at the Art Students League, NYC. In my early years as a young artist in NYC, I shared a studio with my teacher, friend and mentor Alvin Hollingsworth. I've taught Theatrical Design at the New School for Social Research, NYC. Galleries have included: Barbara Ingber Gallery, NYC; West Broadway-SoHo Gallery, NYC; West 4th St. Gallery, NYC; Desmond Gallery, LA; Modern Art Downtown, LA; the Route 66 Art Gallery, LA; Howard Swerdloff Gallery, LA; The Colonnade Art Gallery & Studio, LA; Avenue 50 Gallery, LA and Segil Fine Art Gallery, LA. I'm in several private collections.
