Born 1976 Nuremberg, Germany
Education 1997 BFA Pennsylvania State University
In 1998 I moved to New York City to pursue a career in fashion and textile design, holding positions at Calvin Klein and Visionaire / V Magazine. In 2005 I cofounded the women’s clothing line Flowers of Romance. Five collections were produced from 2005 - 2008, each with an emphasis on hand drawn patterns, custom stamping and unique stitching. In 2008, coinciding with my relocation to North Adams, Massachusetts, I focused my new direction on painting. In 2010, with the artist Timothy Nazzaro, I cofounded and directed Union & Field, a salon for contemporary art. Set in our home, we presented a selection of works by artists including Fanny Bostrom, Alejandro Cardenas, Jesse Aron Green and Tim Walker, along with a series of performances.
In 2012 I moved to Brooklyn, NY. Inspired by my background in fashion and textile design, my current paintings are the representation of materials and patterns achieved through experimentation with indigo, using various resist dye techniques. My work has recently been shown at the Wassaic Project and featured in Studio Visit magazine.
