Jim Kohatsu is a Long Beach based product and fine-art photographer. His work has been shown in galleries around the United States, including the TAG Gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, Linus Galleries in Pasadena, the Mumm Napa Gallery in Northern California, the Darkroom Gallery and PhotoPlace Gallery in Vermont as well as the Pocono Arts Council in Pennsylvania.
Jim grew up in a military family, constantly moving around in his youth to such places as Hawaii, Germany, Texas and California. His father, an avid photographer, was highly influential in his introduction to photography and the visual arts. Currently working as a Digital Technology Artist and with over 20 years of photographic experience, his work has been seen in catalogs, brochures, and advertising. He has just recently explored fine-art and landscape photography. Jim has studied photography and digital arts at UCLA, Cal State Long Beach and various workshops around the U.S.
