Moving to Fort Lauderdale in 1976, the Artist established a Studio and Gallery.  For   many years he was included in Harmon's Distinguished Major Florida Artists Exhibition in Sarasota.  In Broward County he was a finalist for the Moretti Artistic Achievement Award and was selected for Public Art Collections at the Main Library, Southern Regional Courthouse and the Port Everglades Administration Building. In the late 80's the canvas of Clippinger's life drew him to the mountains of Eastern Tennessee where he directed his creativity to landscaping, farming, and horses. There he served as the Hawkins County representative for the Tennessee Cultural Advisory Board.

The next chapter brought him to The Palm Beaches where he had a new studio and continued his love affair with paint.  In the spring of 2007 Steve moved to California and   opened Steven's Studio in the Palm Springs Art District.  In February 2008 he established the Showcase 5 Gallery and studio in this dynamic community of artists and galleries. In 2009 he closed the Gallery and in 2010 opened a new and larger studio in Palm Springs on East Sunny Dunes.  The studio is open by appointment only.
