Statement

The core of my sculptures includes sensitivity to the materials at hand.  By transforming discarded wood remnants and various other found materials into new forms, I reinvent the resources to take on a new state of being.  I value the ability to strip down the materials to its most basic construction symbolically attempting to retain its innocence or purity.  This innocence finds itself conceptually throughout the work as I try to maintain a sense of play within the new sculptures. In addition, my work incorporates personal experiences in parallel to larger universal issues.  From childhood events to day to day encounters, I address topics that directly relate, and continue to influence my art practice.
