Statement

Chitti Kasemkitvatana, born in Bangkok, 1969, is an artist and independent curator. He received his BA in Fine Art from RMIT University, Melbourne, in 1995. His work has been exhibited at various places in both Thailand and overseas such as Linden Gallery, Melbourne; Project 304, Bangkok; About Café, Bangkok; Sucession, Vienna; CAPC Musee d'Art Contemporain, Bordeaux; PS1, New York; Art in General, New York; William Warren Library, Bangkok; H Project Space, Bangkok; Frac-Ile-de-France - Le Plateau, Paris; Level One, Paris and Times Museum, Guangzhou.  His upcoming exhibitions include #IMWTK at 338 Oida Gallery, Bangkok; Seymour, curated by Elodie Royer and Yoann Gourmel, at CEAAC, Strasbourg and never odd or even, curated by Esther Lu, at Taipei Artist Village, Taipei.

Regarding his curatorial work, Chitti Kasemkitvatana is a founding member of AARA - About Art Related Activities, a Bangkok-based independent art organization and the first curator of About Studio/About Cafe, an independent art space in Bangkok, 1997-9. In 2002, he was a founding member of Namdee Publishing Station and co-editor of an audio-visual magazine “VER”, 2002-3. More recently, he became a founding member and co-editor of the publication Messy Sky, which expanded into a project space in 2012.

Chitti Kasemkitvatana is a recipient of the 2014 Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD (Artists-in-Berlin Program of the German Academic Exchange Service).
