Statement

About:

Gina Teichert is a studio artist living in San Francisco, California.  Her practice is focused on sociology and the influences of sex, consumerism and media.  Following residence in Miami and Milan, she left a career in the fashion industry to engage the purely creative potential of contemporary art.  Her current projects draw influence from her time working in advertising and incorporate observations on the pressures society places upon women.

Teichert has shown alongside other emerging West Coast artists at San Francisco’s de Young Museum and Los Angeles Art Association Gallery 825.  National Anthem, an installation chronicling the epic failure of the American healthcare system, opened Sept 26 at  1447 Stevenson St in San Francisco.
