Malika is a multicultural and multilingual artist who uses photography as a toll, as well as mixed media and animation to inspire people. Over the past five years alone Malika has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards in both America and France. In addition, during the last decade she has distinguished herself in Austria by creating an installation that won her a prestigious internship.
As a professional artist, she has exhibited in four continents, North America (USA), Europe (France, Austria and the UK), Africa ( Morocco )and Asia (Korea).
Malika was born in Morocco, but moved to France in her teens, where she decided that the artistic life was the path she wanted to pursue. By the time she was 20 she had created opportunities for herself that defied the limitations of her background. That experience inspired her to help others achieve their dreams.
“Showing ‘reality’ in a new way is what I love about photography,” Malika believes. To paraphrase John Berger, “catching the frame between the frame” is the moment to capture.
Malika’s exhibitions, solo and group shows at galleries and international art fairs have garnered great enthusiasm, and an opportunity to see and give the world a different perspective.
The future is all about opportunities, learning through new challenges and travel. But most importantly inspiring others to achieve their dreams, appreciate and find overlooked beauty in their immediate environment, and at the same time ask themselves the big questions.
Malika is always asking questions in words and images.
