I am fine art photographer, digital collage artist, and teacher. I studied contemporary craft with a focus on metalsmithing & jewelry design in the mid 90s at The University of The Arts in Philadelphia, PA.
After working as jewelry designer for 15 years, I felt the tug back to my love for photography which began in early childhood. I have been finding my voice in the photography and fine art world over the past few years, and am ready to take it by storm.
With a love for art from the surrealist movement, my surreal collage work -- a combination of lowbrow, surrealism, and a slightly gothic renaissance feel-- is created from many layers of original photographs and artwork that have been meticulously digitally painted together, creating an entirely different image. Printed directly onto fabric, I treat the printed canvas to give the final art work a painterly quality.
Still maintaining my love for contemporary craft, I also teach classes in Alternative Materials in Jewelry Design at the Urban Craft Center in Santa Monica, CA. I continue to create custom limited editions from my signature jewelry lines as a way to stay connected with my background in contemporary craft.
