Statement

Stories, relationships, and cultural observation are at the heart of my mixed media artwork. While challenging myself to transform and combine existing images and objects with paint, I explore my own mythologies, ideas, dreams, and interpretations of events. My recent work uses vintage sewing patterns and the corresponding imagery to contrast indicators of time with the timelessness of the human condition. The figures posture and float, seeking to define themselves and their relationships in a mysteriously layered realm where paths and broken instructions are scattered about.
