Artist Statement

I make silent photographs. I attempt to photograph scenes that express stillness, yet maintain power and confidence.

Black and white photography underscores my desire for simplicity. I choose images that represent the essence of serenity, strength and light.

I also aim for uniqueness. I aspire that the ordinary scene becomes extraordinary through my choice of composition and use of technique (light exposure, development and printing). In a sense nature is transformed into art.
