I was born in 1976 in Greece. I studied Computer Science and Software Engineering. In 2003, I started photographing in my travels, and soon photography became my main interest. I am a self taught photographer, educated mainly by studying photographs in books and the Internet and attending seminars on photography and critique.
For me photography is an opportunity to see the world more and more clearly; to see what exists simply and directly. I prefer not to follow concepts or trends, nor to work in projects. I consider thinking about and reflecting on photography necessary, as well as comprehending and appreciating the work of the master photographers of the 20th century. Somehow, I feel withdrawn from much of contemporary photography and art.
Nature and the landscape currently capture my attention. I am fascinated by the way motion and sound can be present in a still, mute photographic image, and in the analogies between photography, music and poetry.
A small book with the photographs in my profile is available here
