A BIT ABOUT MY WORK
"Le seul véritable voyage n'est pas d'aller vers d'autres paysages, mais d'avoir d'autres yeux"
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes!
-Marcel Proust-
My recent work is an ongoing exploration of the poetry that lies either in that strangeness or attachment to a place, how we waver between nostalgia and the impulse to escape. To achieve an aura of aloneness and desertion in my large-format photographs I create most of my compositions without the presence of an actual human being. While the subject matter varies from abandoned industrial structures, battered furniture as well as architectural motifs, my focus is always on the imperfections, scratches and shattered pieces that are hallmarks of human use and worn out objects that usually go unnoticed.
