Bonnie Lane is a video installation artist born in Melbourne, Australia in 1986.
Bonnie recently completed an international artist residency at RAID Projects, in Los Angeles, CA. She is the recipient of multiple prestigious grants, awards and scholarships including the Freedman Foundation Traveling Scholarship (NAVA), the Australia Council for the Arts – ArtStart grant, New Work Grant and JUMP Mentorship grant, and the City of Melbourne – Young Artist Grant.
Bonnie has undertaken numerous international artist residencies in Europe and the USA and will be a resident of the Nanji Art Studio, the residency program of the Seoul Museum of Art in South Korea in September 2012.
Bonnie’s video installations have been exhibited internationally at renowned spaces including the NEXT Art Fair (Chicago, with Anna Pappas Gallery), Art Currents Institute (NYC), BUS Projects (Melbourne), Anna Papas Gallery (Melbourne), Seventh Gallery (Melbourne), 91mq Project Space (Berlin), The Santa Fe International New Media Festival (Santa Fe), YouYou Gallery (China), Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center (New York) and Out in the Sticks Cultural Centre (Canada).
Bonnie recently held her first solo show in New York City at Art Currents Institute in May 2012. In mid 2012 she will be staging a solo exhibition at commercial gallery Anna Pappas Gallery, as well as showing a new video installation at Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts as part of the acclaimed Innovators Program.
Bonnie completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2007 and obtained a first-class Honours Degree from Monash University in 2010. Bonnie lives and works in Melbourne and Los Angeles and is represented by Anna Pappas Gallery.
