Born in 1960, Ruschuk, Bulgaria. Gürsel received education at Kiril Stanchev's workshop for four years. (1973-1978) In 1978, he moved to Turkey. Between 1978 and 1986, he held 12 personal exhibitions at private and government galleries. At age 26, he enrolled to Mimar Sinan University where he received education at Prof. Devrim Erbil and Şükrü Aysan's workshop for four years. After graduation, he moved to south of Turkey where he made a living painting portraits of guests at 5 star hotels. Later on, he tried to promote his paintings through auction houses and art galleries with the help of Naci Terzi. He opened a gallery in Dalyan, Muğla which lasted 6 years. During this time, he also worked in association with Gallery Kleidescope for 3 years. Gürsel currently lives in a small hut in Yayla, Köyceğiz where he continues with his paintings.
