Marko Blazo

Marko Blazo was born in Kosice, Czechoslovakia in 1972.  He studied art from 1987-1994 in Czechoslovakia, Slovakia, France and the USA.

From Mark Blazo:  My visual poetry is constructed from my free imagination. I build my fantasy world, where people, animals, plants are saved and embodied into the shells of architecture. I build my architectural toys, I play with them and move them out for relaxation and vacations into gallery spaces. Inspiration comes from the land of nobody. I build my toys in the zone of love and in the borders between the quarelling questions of evolution, god, science, religion, intellect, folly, madness and art. I am totally fascinated by various architectural sites, their transformations into my works of art help me in my everyday self-renovation from life feelings and phobic experiences. I am inspired by the question of how to make still attractive the ancient examples of architecture for the thinking of modern man, who has different needs as yesterday's souls.  I want to help to keep sights in the marathon threw times longer. In this race the most tired architectures are usually ending first. In my works I try to save them symbolically. I change their image by my plastic surgery. They have beautiful bodies, I try only to improve them more. They need to get permanent start to future, they need the continual process of restoration. But I want to see them in new angles. My houses, temples, churches, castles, pyramids, pavillions, viaducts, dog houses, fortifications, towers, birdhouses are my feelings, hopes, joys annd loves, but also my questions and diseases. I dress them into my freedom.
