Born in the Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia), Katerina Kyselica received a Master Degree from Charles University in Prague. In 2006, she received BFA from VCU School of the Arts in Richmond, Virginia after relocating to the US. She currently lives and works in New York City where she studied printmaking at Manhattan Graphics Center. Her fine art prints and mixed media works have been exhibited in group shows in New York, Paris, France and in the Czech Republic.
Through her work, Kyselica seeks understanding of the individual’s own existence. In the social system pre-occupied with rapid technological advancement, she looks inward to explore established roles and expectations, speaking of entrapment and involuntary entanglement. She creates fine art prints, mixed media works and art books.
