Frank Garaitonandia (b. 1972, Palma Soriano, Santiago , Cuba )
Raised between Cuba , Costa Rica and Miami Garaitonandia is an alumnus of the New World School of the Arts, recipient of the Frances Wolfson Endowed Visual Arts Scholarship for two consecutive years, 1993 and 1994. He received a full tuition scholarship to University of Florida and graduated with honors with a BFA, majoring in painting in 1996. In 1994 he received a Vermont Studio Center Scholarship Award, artist residency, in Johnson , VT. and in 1995 he received The Penland School Scholarship to explore printmaking techniques in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina .
Currently living in Sanford, Florida , Garaitonandia spends his time teaching art and working out of his studio.
