Influenced by the Rimpa School of traditional Japanese painting and the modern animation culture, Japanese artist Hiroshi Mori vigorously tries to combine traditional art with modern expression and technologies, aiming to express the anxiousness towards reality and hopes for the future by images full of rich symbolic metaphors. His works are highly acclaimed by the Japanese art world. He was awarded Shigeo Goto Prize of “7” Tagboat Award” in 2012, Kunio Motoe Prize of “Shell Art Award 2010”. He was also the top five finalists of “Young Art Taipei-Young Art Award” in 2011. He has been invited to various art fairs in Taiwan since 2011.

Hiroshi Mori likes to make new attempts. During the creation of The Memories series, he tried using digital technologies to inject gold base tone into the art works without using real gold. After multiple tests, a new artistic technique is born. As for his interest in blending new technologies into his art works, he explains, “As a modern artist, I want to make use of technologies as a testament of living in this age.”
