Annie Wharton is a painter, video artist, and de facto curator who recently moved to Los Angeles. She makes her own paints, watches too many Scandinavian videos, has a studio in Chinatown, a penchant for muscle cars and music from the 70s, and a great dog named "Flor." She has shown internationally in galleries, museums, alternative spaces and art fairs, and her works are included in several public and private collections. She recently curated a show called "DREAM(land)" for www.thejailgallery.com, and is now working on some other projects. In her research for the DREAM(land) exhibit, she found a simultaneous thread of progressive idealism, penchant for beauty, and clever irony in the artists' works. More on the show can be found on: www.dreamlandshow.info. Her personal website is www.anniewharton.com and her blog is pungentglimmer.blogspot.com.
