Gayle Wheatley is a professional illustrator, painter, and art director, who specializes in fun, fashionable, and irresistibly glamorous illustrations and vibrant, dream-like, and delightfully textured paintings. Her artwork is heavily influenced by mythology, Asian culture, feminist thought, and her many globe trekking adventures. She has lived abroad in both Italy and Japan, and has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia. She currently maintains a studio in Los Angeles.
Gayle has created work for clients such as Natural Health magazine, Teen magazine, Bratz Dolls, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Southern Bride Magazine, Pepperdine University, Whole Life Times, Tokyo and Kansai Scene magazines, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, just to name a few.
Gayle earned degrees in Journalism and Art from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Additionally, she studied fine arts extensively at Studio Art Centers International, in Florence, Italy, and completed graduate coursework in art education at the University of California at Santa Barbara. She is an accomplished painter and illustrator whose work has been published and exhibited in the United States, Japan, England, Italy, Germany, Canada, South Korea and Hong Kong, and her art can be found in numerous private collections around the world.
