Statement

“I paint the interaction of water with other natural elements:  Water cascading across rock, surface patterns and reflections. I have always been more interested in the details of an intimate event in nature than the broad panorama of traditional landscape. I begin each painting with a freehand drawing. From a distance the finished work appears realistic. At closer range the reality dissolves into clusters of tiny circles. Water is an element in constant movement and transition, providing me with an infinite visual stimulus. I hope my art brings attention to the beauty of water and its vital importance to the life of our planet.”
