Bio:
Growing up in the midwest, spending a good deal of time outdoors, I came to appreciate my visual surroundings at an early age — always drawing, then painting, and eventually photographing, with a focus on the natural world. Drawing and painting has had a large influence on how I photograph, even to this day. In college, I studied fine art, graphic design, and photography. While there I was introduced to a wide range of artists, photographers, and techniques, but ultimately fell in love with the black and white photographic image. After college, I had big ideas of moving to the west to coast to California — mostly for the experience, but also to focus on my photographic work. Now, living and working in Southern California I have plenty of opportunities to explore imagery that interests me.
