“We are a product of our environment, in dress, behavior and body language. All aspects of personality are shaped by the interaction between the social and political landscape.
This is a deliberate view acknowledging the infection of personal experience; the combination of imagery and style are inventions, they are subjective elements brought by a photographer to real events.
My engagment with others is not the result of a democratic process; the subject is complicit but it is not collaboration; the relationship between the subject and camera, reveals their relationship to the world.
The emotions within us are manifest in momentary glimpses of the lives of others but they are merely an exploration of the limits of ourselves and do not reflect th whloe truth.
As an adopted child of the 60’s with no genetic or social family history, I am seeking further understanding of myself through the lives of other people.”
